Westgate has not just been about dogs! In her first venture into American Quarter Horses, Susan bred an outstanding colt, Ed Burnett. Again, knowing that careful line breeding was best, and choosing horses closely related to some of the best AQHA Foundation Stock, Ed Burnett was high point weanling stallion in 10 Pacific Coast Associations winning the Valley Quarter Horse Weanling Futurity and the prestigious, PCQHA Weanling Futurity at the Cow Palace. He ended his weanling year (1981) with more points than any other horse shown that year. In his career as a sire, Ed produced several foals that won Weanling Futurities and Pacific Coast High Point Weanling Stallion or Mare.
